England drop first points as Italy are held by North Macedonia

England dropped their first points in Group C of the EURO 2024 qualifiers after being held in a 1-1 draw by Ukraine at the Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw on Saturday.

England maintain a six-point lead over Ukraine but the latter have a game in hand.

Oleksandr Zinchenko put Ukraine ahead on the 26th minute but four minutes from the end of the first half, Kyle Walker levelled matters.

Meanwhile Italy dropped another two points after being held in a 1-1 draw by North Macedonia. The latter therefore bounced back from the 7-0 defeat to England at Old Trafford to stay in the hunt for a place in the EURO 2024.

Ciro Immobile put Luciano Spallett’s side ahead two minutes in the second half but nine minutes from time, Enis Bardhi equalised for North Macedonia.

On match-day 7, on September 12, Malta hosts North Macedonia at Ta’ Qali while Italy meet Ukraine at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
