Marsaxlokk returned to winning ways as they defeated Sirens 3-1 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Wednesday.
The Southseasiders, therefore, move third, two points behind joint-leaders Floriana and Hamrun Spartans and one ahead of Hibernians and Balzan.
Sirens, on the other hand, remain joint-second from bottom on one point, together with Gzira United and Naxxar Lions, ahead of bottom-placed Santa Lucia.
Yuri de Jesus Messias put Marsaxlokk ahead on the 22nd minute and six minutes later, Sunday Akinbule levelled matters. Jose Fernando Gomes Junior made it 3-0 six minutes later.
Sirens pulled one back on the 65th minute thanks to Frank Boateng.
