Zabbar St. Patrick and Zurrieq are the new leaders of the BOV Challenge League as they both registered wins on Sunday.
A goal by Francisco Ivan Sousa Flora on the 21st handed Zurrieq a narrow win over Senglea Athletic at the Centenary Stadium while Zabbar St. Patrick registered a narrow win over Zejtun Corinthians at the Victor Tedesco Stadium courtesy of David Oliveira Souza on the 63rd.
Melita joined Pieta’ and Lija in third place thanks to a 4-0 win over bottom-placed Msida St. Joseph at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Andre Carlos Penha da Costa scored twice on the 7th and 19th, adding a fourth goal on the 76th after Nick Cutajar had scored the third goal on the 39th.
In another match, Swieqi United and Marsa shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Centenary Stadium.
Zurrieq and Zabbar lead the way with 9 points, followed by Melita, Pieta’ and Lija on 7, Fgura 6, Marsa 5, Luqa and Swieqi 4, Senglea 3, Zejtun, Tarxien, St. Andrews, Attard and Zebbug 1 and Msida 0.
