Women’s Under-17 national team turn defeat into victory as they beat Azerbaijan

The Malta Women’s Under-17 national team came from behind to beat Azerbaijan 4-1 at the Stadion NK Lučko in Lučko, Croatia on Sunday.

A result which means that Malta ends its commitments as runner-up in Group B3 following the defeat to group winners Croatia and the 2-1 win over Luxembourg on Thursday.

Asadova put Azerbaijan ahead after just four minutes but Kaysia Micallef equalised on the 26th minute. Lexine Farrugia scored two goals in six minutes between the 47th and 52nd to Put Malta ahead and Sara Saliba sealed the issue with a fourth goal on the 64th.
