Futsal: Comfortable wins for top teams

Local futsal champions Luxol St Andrews registered their second win in the Enemed Futsal League as they defeated Sliema Futsal 13-2.

The St Andrew’s side dominated the match where, as usual, their captain Mark Zammit was the main protagonist as he netted a hat-trick. Jefferson Breno, Andre Tiago and Andy Mangion helped themselves with a brace while Everton Veve, Luke Gatt, Jean Noel Azzopardi and Paulo Andre completed the score for Gabriel Dobre’s boys. Juan Morales Poveda scored Sliema’s only two goals.

Ta Xbiex obtained the biggest win of the day thanks to a massive 25-0 score against Santa Venera Lightnings. Albanian striker Stefi Cale scored seven goals with Kurt Bartolo and Glenn Bonello authors of four goals. Eztiben Lozada and Ryan Debono scored a hat-trick each while Dexter O’Brien notched a brace. Jason Gauci and Christian Wismayer scored the other goals for Ta’ Xbiex.

University of Malta ACJ Group beat Malta Under 18 11-0. Brazilian  Guillherme Fonseca scored four goals with his compatriot Kaue Meggiato and Melvin Borg netting a brace. Zvezdan Vukovic and Steven Camilleri scored the other goals for UoM.

Żurrieq Bormla Futsal defeated Marsaskala Futsal 8-2. Chris Cardona and Darko Ristic scored twice each while Karl Sciortino, Karl Luke Schembri, Dylan Musu and Mohamed Elamari also added their names among the scorers. An own goal by Jovica Milijic and Nikola Milenkoski scored for Marsaskala.

Swieqi United registered a comfortable 4-1 win against Birżebbuġa St Peter’s. Felipe Molina, Brayan Rivera, Matthew Buhagiar and Dylan Pace scored for the Swieqi side. Julien Bollard reduced the score for Birżebbuġa.

In another game, the Malta Under 19  achieved an important  6-2 win against Gżira United Santa Margerita Futsal.
