Qormi and San Gwann are the new leaders in Group B of the IZIBET Amateur League as both registered wins on Saturday.
At the Centenary Stadium, Dingli came from behind to beat Marsaskala 2-1. Fabrizio Zammit put Marsaskala ahead on the 11th minute but Mohamed Kara equalised seven minutes in the second half and went on to convert a penalty on the 64th to hand Dingli the three points.
A goal by GIllmore Azzopardi three minutes in the second half handed Qormi a narrow win over Vittoriosa Stars at the Sirens Stadium while a goal by Mattia Zarb eight minutes from time handed San Gwann a narrow win over Kirkop United at the Luxol Stadium.
Qormi and San Gwann lead the way with 10 points, followed by Marsaskala on 9, Mgarr 7, St. George’s 6, Kirkop and Dingli 4, Ta’ Xbiex 3, Gharghur 1, Vittoriosa and Ghaxaq 0.
Meanwhile in Group A, Qrendi joined Mtarfa and Rabat Ajax on top as they defeated Mtarfa 4-2 at the Sirens Stadium. Kurt Borg converted a penalty for Mtarfa on the 28th but ten minutes in the second half, Brandon Bray levelled matters. Larson Mallia made it 2-1 on the 80th and although Kurt Borg scored another penalty on the 84th, Brandon Bray restored the lead one minute from time and Larson Mallia converted a penalty five minutes in added time to seal the issue.
