Rabat Ajax moved three points clear in Group A of the IZIBET Amateur League as they registered their fourth win in as many matches, defeating Siggiewi 2-0 at the Sirens Stadium on Sunday.
Aidan Azzopardi put the Magpies ahead on the 5th minute and Ryden Gatt doubled the score on the 71st.
Pembroke Athleta joined Mtarfa and Qrendi in second place as they came from behind to beat Xghajra Tornados 2-1 in another match at the Sirens Stadium. Paul Simon Ellul put Xghajra ahead on the 36th but Weverton Gomes equalised nine minutes in the second half and Jordan Vella notched the winner six minutes later.
Birzebbuga St. Peter’s were held in a 1-1 draw by Kalkara United at the Sirens Stadium. Luke Farrugia put Kalkara ahead on the 56th with Samuel Saldanha equalising ten minutes later.
Santa Venera Lightnings joined Mqabba in sixth place as a goal by Richmond Baratuipre Hanson on the 34th minute handed them a narrow win in a direct clash at the Charles Abela Stadium.
In another match, a brace by Luka Mijic on the 11th and 28th handed Mellieha a 2-0 win over Mdina Knights at the Charles Abela Stadium.
