Pieta’ Hotspurs and Lija Athletic shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in a match from the BOV Challenge League at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.
Erjon Beu put Lija ahead on the 16th but six minutes in the second half, Yuto Morita levelled matters. Erjon Beu restored the lead on the 57th but Claudio Antunes Pavlidis equalised on the 62nd.
A brace by Camilo Andres Sanchez Gonzales on the 72nd and 88th handed Luqa St. Andrew’s a fine 2-0 win over Zejtun Corinthians at the Centenary Stadium.
A hat-trick by Santiago Moracci enabled Tarxien Rainbows to register their first win as they defeated Attard 4-2 at the Centenary Stadium. Moracci put Tarxien ahead on the 9th minute and although Bledi Alla equalised on the half hour, Moracci restored the lead on the 42nd and two minutes in the second half, Jean Carlos Cloth Goncalves made it 3-1. Moracci scored again on the 69th with Sven Azzopardi reducing the gap ten minutes from time.
At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, St. Andrews also registered their first win, defeating Zebbug Rangers 3-1. Jeremy Micallef put Zebbug ahead on the 56th but Arthur de Moura equalised on the 62nd. Six minutes later, Brayan Samuel Nyetam Junior made it 2-1 and De Moura added another on the 71st.
Zurrieq lead the way with 12 points, followed by Zabbar on 10, Fgura 9, Melita, Pieta’ and Lija 8, Luqa 7, Marsa 6, Tarxien, St. Andrews, Senglea and Swieqi 4, Zejtun, Attard and Zebbug 1 and Msida 0.
