Futsal: Karl Luke Schembri scores four as ZRQ Bormla hold Luxol in a draw

Karl Luke Schembri was inspirational for ŻRQ Bormla as he netted a poker in a 4-4 draw with champions Luxol.

It was an intense match with Luxol enjoying the lead for most of the team but with ZRQ Bormla reacting even though they were 3-1 down.

Andre Ciancio and Mark Zammit scored twice each while for ŽRQ Bormla Karl Luke Schembri scored four goals.

Ta’ Xbiex Futsal beat the Malta Under 18 side 6-3 in an entertaining encounter. Stefi Cale and Redeemer Borg scored two goals each with Liam Caruana and Kurt Bartolo adding more goals for their team. The Under-18s scored through a Samuel Christop Abela brace and a goal by Zachary Abo Assaf.

The Malta Under 19 side drew 3-3 against Sliema Wanderers. Collin Sammut, Amin Louati and Denzel Camilleri scored the goals for the Under-19s while Jean Leite Lopes and a double by Juan Poveda replied for Sliema.

University of Malta ACJ Group beat Birżebbuġa St Peter’s 7-1 thanks to a Melvin Borg hat-trick and goals by Zvezdan Vukovic and Steven Camilleri scoring their other goals. Birżebbuġa scored their only goal through Julien Bolard.

Swieqi United returned to winning ways as they beat Marsaskala Futsal 8-2. The team led by Dylan Micallef was motivated to get the three important points and they scored their goals through a double by Justin Theuma and Gregory Busuttil with Brayan Stiven, Matthew Buhagiar, Cristian Sanchez and Ryan Muscat also among the scorers.

Gżira United Santa Margerita registered their first win after seeing off Santa Venera Lightnings 7-3. Yessous Camilleri and Leon Camilleri scored two goals apiece with Herbert Spiteri, Bernard Sciberras and Jonathan Xerri also on target. The Lightnings, who are still chasing their first points, had Benjamin Azzopardi netting a brace with Vuk Rankovic adding another one.
