The Futsal Malta Association has achieved a historic milestone in its 12 year history as the Enemed Women’s Futsal League got underway.

Lija Athletic Futsal started brightly their 2023/24 campaign as they defeated Swieqi Futsal 7-3.

Ruth Steer Cheetham was on song for Lija as she netted a hat-trick with Irena Drugovic notching a brace. Jasmin Vella Turner and Sarah Cassar also put their names on the score sheet. Vanessa Honairo Carneiro, Krista Montfort, Doanna Alejandra Fuentes Alvarez were on target for Swieqi.

University of Malta ACJ Group and Santa Margerita FC shared the spoils in an entertaining 4-4 scoreline. Ilenia Navarro netted a brace for Gżira United Santa Margerita as Therese Briffa and Rowena Zahra were also on target. Maria Mizzi scored a double with Sabrina Pace and Nicole Espinel adding to their tally.
