Kirkop United and Mgarr United were the first teams to reach the semi-finals of the National Amateur Cup as the first two quarter-finals were played at the Sirens Stadium on Saturday.

A goal after just three minutes by Julian Camilleri handed Mgarr United a narrow win over Mqabba.

On the other hand, Kirkop United defeated Vittoriosa Stars 5-1. Ryan Dalli put Kirkop ahead on the 7th minute, Neil Friggieri doubled the score on teh 15th and seven minutes later, Michael Theuma made it 3-0. Neil John Cutajar extended the lead six minutes in the second half and although Joseph Jojo Ogunnupe pulled one back on the 87th, Giovanni Galea made it 5-1 one minute in added time.

Apart from reaching the semi-finals of the competition, Kirkop United will enter the Preliminary Round of the IZIBET FA Trophy where they will face Lija Athletic while Mgarr United make it to the Round of 32 of the competition.
