Eleven Premier League players suspended – Eight-match ban for Valenzia

Eleven Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Luis Carlos Riascos Torres (Gzira) and Armah Ayo Vaikanah (Marsaxlokk) were suspended for three matches while Jovan Pajovic (Birkirkara), Gabriel Bohrer Mentz (Gzira), Ognjen Bjelicic and Elionay Freitas da Silva (Hamrun), Sasha Cachia (Mosta), Elizeu Espirito Santo da Conceicao and Wiliam Marcilio Moreira da Silva (Naxxar), Murilo Henrique Freire Bernardo (Sliema) and Neil Anthony Micallef were all banned for one match.

Riascos will miss the next three games against Hamrun, Birkirkara and Santa Lucia while Vaikanah skips the games against Santa Lucia, Floriana and Hibernians. Hamrun will lack Bjelicic and Elionay for the clash with Gzira who will also lack Bohrer apart from Riascos; Elizeu Espirito Santo and Wiliam Marcilio the clash with Sirens; Pajovic will miss the game against Gudja, Sasha Cachia the game against Floriana, Murilo the game against Balzan and Micallef the clash with Hibernians.

Birkirkara president Michael Valenzia was banned for eight matches.

Meanwhile in the Challenge League, Tobi Akiti (Fgura) was suspended for three matches while Justin Cassar and Luca Martinelli (Attard), Leo Agius (Lija), Ryan Schembri (Luqa), Clyde Cumbo (St. Andrews), Matthew Ellul (Zabbar), Jeremy Micallef (Zebbug) and Kieran Paul Fenech (Zejtun) were all handed a one-match ban. Marsa official Mario Zammit was suspended for two matches.

On the other hand, Ghaxaq official Guido Agius was suspended for two matches in the National Amateur Cup.
