Birzebbuga St. Peter’s returned to winning ways as they defeated Rabat Ajax in a clash from Group A of the IZIBET Amateur League at the Sirens Stadium on Friday.
Gabriel Borg put the Saints ahead on the 11th minute and seven minutes later, Samuel Saldanha doubled the score. Alejandro Brincat extended the lead on the 76th with Jake Cordina pulling one back five minutes in added time.
At the Centenary Stadium, Xghajra Tornados defeated Mqabba 2-1.
Nestor Luis Silva opened the score on the 3rd and made it 2-0 two minutes from the end of the first half. Andres Tenorio Viveros reduced the gap on the 63rd.
Mtarfa and Qrendi lead the way with 19 points, followed by Birzebbuga and Pembroke on 15, Rabat and Xghajra 14, Sta. Venera 13, Mqabba 12, Mellieha and Kalkara 8, Siggiewi 4 and Mdina 1.
