Leaders Zabbar St. Patrick dropped two points in a goalless draw with Zurrieq in a match from the BOV Challenge League at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.
Marsa suffered a shock 0-2 defeat to Msida St. Joseph at the Centenary Stadium. Victor Ifeanyi Mbata put the Saints ahead on the 29th and an own goal sealed the issue for Msida on the 64th.
In another match at the Centenary Stadium, Zejtun Corinthians defeated Zebbug Rangers 4-1. Josiah Mallia put Zejtun ahead on the 24th and Matthew Mifsud doubled the score two minutes from the end of the first half. Miguel Perez Jimenez reduced the gap on the 54th but Jairo Santos de Oliveira Filho restored the lead one minute later. Joel Kifoyi Bonkela made it 4-1 three minutes in added time.
At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Swieqi United and Senglea Athletic shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Terence Vella put Senglea ahead on the 20th but Jamie Scerri equalised three minutes from the end of the first half.
Zabbar lead the way with 26 points, followed by Melita on 23, Fgura 21, Zurrieq 20, Marsa and Senglea 19, Pieta’ 18, Swieqi 16, Lija 14, Tarxien and Zejtun 12, Luqa 9, Zebbug 8, Msida 6, Attard 5 and St. Andrews 4.
