Brazilian playmaker Joelma Alves Gabriel of Mgarr United and American forward Alexis Veronica Espitia of Hibernians won the first two Assikura Women’s League Player of the Month awards for season 2023/24.

Mgarr’s Joelma won the award for August/September while Espitia won the award for October/November.

Joelma moved to Mgarr United this summer and is currently leading the list of scorers in the Assikura Women’s League with 17 goals.

Espitia, on the other hand, moved to Malta in January 2022 to join Swieqi United but the following summer joined Hibernians. She scored ten goals for the Paolites so far.
