Qrendi missed the chance to re-join Mtarfa on top Group A of the IZIBET Amateur League as they lost 1-2 to Mellieha at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.
Luke Farrugia put Mellieha ahead on the 54th and five minutes later, Jake Saliba doubled the score. Ross McParland reduced the gap five minutes from time.
Mqabba returned to winning ways as they defeated Mdina Knights 3-1 at the Luxol Stadium. Dylan Zarb put Mqabba ahead on the 25th and Gabriel Sant doubled the score on the 32nd. Gianluca Theuma pulled one back four minutes later but Karlo Ghigo made it 3-1 on the 79th.
Pembroke Athleta and Rabat Ajax shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Sirens Stadium.
In another match at the Sirens Stadium, Siggiewi defeated Sta. Venera Lightnings 1-0 courtesy of an Isaac Kwesi Dankwah Ansanyi goal before the end of the first half.
Mtarfa lead the way with 28 points, followed by Qrendi on 25, Birzebbuga on 21, Rabat 18, Xghajra 17, Pembroke 16, Sta. Venera and Mellieha 14, Mqabba 12, Siggiewi 10, Kalkara 9 and Mdina 1.
