Tipsport Malta Cup: Austria Wien defeat Spartak Trnava

Austria Wien registered their first win in the Tipsport Malta Cup 2024 as they defeated Spartak Trnava 3-2 at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Lucas Galvao put Austria Wien ahead two minutes from the end of the first half but Marco Djuričin equalised just before the break. Manuel Polster restored the lead for Austria Wien ten minutes in the second half and although Filip Bainovič converted a penalty two minutes from time, Andreas Gruber notched the winner on the 90th.

Meanwhile the clash between the two Czech sides – SK Sigma Olomouc and FC Hradec Králové – shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Daniel Hais put Hradec Králové ahead on the 36th but Jan Fortelný equalised four minutes in the second half.
