Pitch at Melita Ground inagurated

The Melita FC pitch was inaugurated on Saturday by Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo and club President Matthew Naudi.

In his speech, President Vassallo described this inauguration as another milestone for the club. The MFA President remarked on the importance of sustaining member clubs in creating the right environment with the best possible facilities for the development of football players from a very young age.

The assistance of the government, as a stakeholder, is essential for projects like these, in which investment in football facilities leaves an important impact on the community in general.

Player welfare is also an important part of the players’ well-being, thus believing in the philosophy that football players must be provided with the best environment, will enable them to step up and raise their standards, concluded Vassallo.

Meanwhile Melita FC President Matthew Naudi thanked all those involved in making the resurfacing project a reality, in particular the MFA and the government. “This is a testimony of the dedication, passion, and hard work of all those involved in making this project happen”, he said.

Mr. Naudi said that this is not just an infrastructural investment for the club but it is an investment in a space where children live their dreams away from the temptations and distractions in society and where emotions are felt and memories are created.

The investment, he added, is key to the success and growth of the club, and appealed to the MFA and to government to carry on assisting the club so that it can continue to grow and excel for the benefit of Maltese football.

He concluded by thanking the MFA president Bjorn Vassallo in particular, for his hard work at the helm of the MFA and urged the Melita family to remain true to the club’s values of honesty, teamwork, and fair play.
