Malta set to play friendly match in Hungary

Malta is expected to play a friendly match against Hungary away from home in June. This was announced by the president of the Hungarian football federation, MLSZ, Sandor Csanyi.

The friendly against Malta will be the last in a series of friendly matches for Hungary ahead of the EURO 2024 commitments where they would be facing Switzerland, Germany and Scotland. Apart from the friendly against Malta, they would be playing Turkey and Kosovo in March and the Republic of Ireland in June.

Malta will play two friendly matches against Slovenia and Belarus on March 21 and 26 respectively and another match in June apart from the match against Hungary.

These matches form part of the Malta national team’s preparation ahead of the UEFA Nations League commitments between September and November. The draws for the UEFA Nations League will be held on February 8.
