Gzira United and Balzan earned a point each in a 1-1 draw at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Sunday.
This draw puts Balzan in eighth place, one point ahead of Valletta and three ahead of Mosta while Gzira lie in the eleventh place, one point behind the Blues and three ahead of Santa Lucia.
The Maroons took the lead five minutes from the end of the first half thanks to Lucas Macula who took a short clearance and drilled the ball home past goalkeeper Danilo Golovic.
However Balzan equalised on the 64th minutes thanks to a shot from the edge of the area by Olivier Rommens which beat goalkeeper Darijan Zarkov.
