Jose Borg appointed as head coach of Birkirkara

Birkirkara FC announced that Jose Borg has been appointed as the new head coach of the club.

In a statement, the club said that “As part of the club’s ongoing UEFA Men Licensing process, a crucial requirement is a UEFA ‘PRO’ Licensed Head Coach. The interim tenure of Mr. Brian Chetcuti, fulfilling this role for the maximum allowed sixty days, has now concluded.”

“After careful consideration, the club has decided to internally promote Mr. Jose Borg to the position of Head Coach until the end of the season. Importantly, Mr. Borg’s current responsibilities with the club’s women’s team will remain unchanged, and the club is committed to supporting the Women’s Team in achieving its season’s objectives.”

The club express its gratitude to Brian Chetcuti for his dedicated work over the past two months, saying that they had full confidence that he will continue to make valuable contributions in his role as an assistant coach.

The Stripes are currently sixth, on level points with Naxxar Lions with 21 points from 15 matches. On the other hand, the Birkirkara women’s team are heading towards another lead title after going seven points clear in the Assikura Women’s League.
