Birkirkara returned to winning ways as a goal three minutes in added time handed them a narrow win over Valletta at the National Stadium on Friday.
A win which puts the Stripes on level points with Hibernians although the Paolites have a game in hand. Valletta, on the other hand, remain ninth, one point behind Balzan, two ahead of Mosta and three ahead of Gzira.
The Stripes scored the all-important goal three minutes in added time when off a corner from the right, Alessandro Coppola headed the ball home despite a desperate attempt by a defender to clear the ball into safety.
