BOV Challenge League: Melita turn defeat into victory

Melita regained the top spot as they came from behind to defeat Senglea Athletic 2-1 in the BOV Challenge League Top 6 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

Manji Williams put Senglea ahead on the 28th but Karl Mohnani  equalised four minutes from the end of the first half and Henrique Marcelino Motta notched the winner on the 91st.

A goal by Claudio Antunes on the 2nd minute and a Kian Leonardi penalty on the 48rh handed Pieta’ Hotspurs a 2-0 win over Zurrieq at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Melita lead the way in the Top 6 with 34 poiints, followed by Zabbar on 33, Pieta’ 30, Senglea 29, Marsa 28, Zurrieq 27.

In the Play-Out, Zejtun Corinthians and St. Andrews shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Centenary Stadium. Jairo Santos de Oliveira Filho converted a penalty on the 5th minute for Zejtun but a Wagner Eduardo Alves Pereira penalty on the 20th restored equilibrium.

On the other hand, a Nnamdu Ofufu Ibeh goal on the 78th handed Fgura United a narrow win over Attard at the Centenary Stadium.

In the Play-Out, Fgura lead the way with 29 points, followed by Lija on 22, Swieqi 21, Zejtun 18, Tarxien 17, Luqa 16, St. Andrews 12, Zebbug 10, Attard 8 and Msida 6.
