Alishia Sultana and Haley Bugeja were on target for Malta as Manuela Tesse’s side defeated the Faroe Islands 2-0 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium in a match from the VisitMalta Women’s International Friendlies on Thursday.
Following a goalless first half, Malta took the lead ten minutes in the second half when Maria Farrugia served Haley Bugeja who gave Alishia Sultana a perfect assist and the latter controlled the ball on the right before beating goalkeeper Óluva Joensen.
Four minutes later, Malta doubled the score courtesy of Haley Bugeja who latched on a pass by Maria Farrugia and advanced into the area before lobbing the ball over the Faroe Islands goalkeeper.
