Swieqi Futsal and Lija Athletic A will be contesting the Enemed Women’s Futsal Trophy final after both registered fine wins in the respective opponents in the semi-finals.

Swieqi Futsal defeated Lija Athletic B 6-0 courtesy of an Andjela Kricak hat-trick and goals by Dana Fuentes, Vanessa Carneiro and Amy Abdilla.

Lija Athletic A, on the other hand, turned defeat into victory in the other semifinal  against Santa Margherita to win 4-2. Santa Margherita were leading 2-0 by the end of the first half thanks to goals by Ilenia Navarro and Audrienne Chetcuti. In the second half, Lija Athletic A turned the tables after Irena Drugovic equalized the score, Ruth Steer Cheetham scored a hat-trick in eight minutes which handed Lija a place in the final.

The final between Swieqi Futsal and Lija Athletics A will take place next Tuesday at the St. Aloysious Pavilion in Birkirkara at 21:15.
