Mtarfa moved ten points clear in Group A of the IZIBET Amateur League as they scored three in the second half to beat Mqabba 3-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.

GIanfranco Micallef put Mtarfa ahead six minutes in the second half and Kurt Borg doubled the score twelve minutes later. Micallef added another eight minutes from time.

Birzebbuga St. Peter’s moved second thanks to a 2-0 win over Siggiewi at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Lee Joe Schembri put the Saints ahead on the 13th and one minute in added time, an own goal sealed the issue for Edward Azzopardi’s side.

In another match, Rabat Ajax held Qrendi in a goalless draw at the Centenary Stadium.

Mtarfa lead the way with 46 points, followed by Birzebbuga on 36, Qrendi 35, Xghajra 27, Mellieha 26, Rabat and Mqabba 25, Pembroke 20, Sta. Venera 17, Kalkara 15, Siggiewi 11 and Mdina 1.
