Balzan and Hibernians earned a point each in a goalless draw at the National Stadium on Saturday.
A draw which puts Balzan on level points with Gzira United and Naxxar Lions on the 21-point mark in seventh place but the latter two have a game in hand. Hibernians, on the other hand, move temporarily on level points with Marsaxlokk in fourth place but Birkirkara would leapfrog them in case of a win over Mosta.
Shots at goal were few and far in between with the only truly goal scoring opportunity falling at the feet of Artim Radchenko whose shot from the left hit the woodwork with goalkeeper Rudy Briffa beaten.
