Enzo Potenza steps down

Valletta FC have announced that Italian coach Vincenzo Potenza has tendered his resignation. He had replaced Thane Micallef in October but his appointment failed to turn the club’s fortunes.

In fact Valletta are currently third from bottom.

Assistant Coach Juan Cruz Gill will be taking over the team assisted by recently appointed Technical Director Jesmond Zerafa.

Vincenzo Potenza moved to Malta in 2018, leading Senglea Athletic in their Premier League campaign and the following season, moved to Floriana with whom he won the title on his first attempt. However, the following season, he stepped down in December 2020 but was re-appointed as coach two months later. Potenza spent season 2021/22 with Marsa in the Challenge League while last season, he joined Santa Lucia in November, leading them to secure their Premier League status.

Before moving to Malta, he led Puteolana, Arzanese, Albanova and Turris in Italy.
