After failing to impress in recent outings, Naxxar Lions returned to winning ways as they defeated Hibernians 2-0 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
Three important points which put the Lions on level points with Gzira United, two behind the Paolites. Gzira, however, have a game in hand.
Following a goalless first half, Naxxar forged ahead when following a good run by Pablo on the right, he served Maicon De Souza Da Silva who slotted the ball past goalkeeper Ibrahim Kone.
Eleven minutes later, the Lions doubled the score when Edson Cerquiera Farias intercepted a ball by Kurt Shaw and served Pablo Augusto Servo De Carvalho who concluded a brilliant run from midfield by hitting the ball past Kone.
