Zabbar St. Patrick defeated Senglea Athletic by the odd goal in five at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday to re-join Melita on top the BOV Challenge League Top 6 table.
Terence Vella converted a penalty after just five minutes to put Senglea ahead but Brian Ariel Gambarte equalised one minute from the end of the first half. An Ezequiel Eduardo Ruiz penalty put Zabbar ahead on the 64th and James Scicluna extended the lead on the 73rd. Sebastian Esquivel Pedromo reduced the gap three minutes from time.
Melita and Zabbar lead the way with 44 points, followed by Senglea on 34, Marsa 33, Pieta’ 32 and Zurrieq 28.
In the Play-Out, Tharcysio Henrique da Silva scored two minutes in added time for Zejtun Corinthians to beat Attard 1-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
Swieqi United defeated Msida St. Joseph 3-2 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Deacon Abela put Swieqi ahead on the 14th and although David Chidera Ejiofor equalised on the 20th, Terence Agius made it 2-1 on the 27th. Lian Xuereb levelled matters on the 72nd but five minutes from time, Alan Schembri Wismayer notched the winner.
Tarxien Rainbows came from behind to beat Zebbug Rangers 3-1 at the Centenary Stadium. Duvan Mosquera Torres put Zebbug ahead on the 28th but Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo equalised on the 59th. Rundell Renold Winchester scored twice on the 76th and 83rd to hand Tarxien the three points.
Fgura lead the way with 30 points, followed by Lija and Swieqi on 28, Tarxien 27, Luqa and Zejtun 25, St. Andrews 15, Zebbug 14, Attard 11 and Msida 6.
