Mtarfa Futsal took an initial advantage in the Enemed Women’s Futsal League semi-final first leg when they beat Lija Athletic B 3-1.

Oriana Bedingfield, Sabrina Bertona and Shania Spiteri handed Mtarfa a three-goal lead but Lija reduced the gap through Bisleybi Amaya.

In the second semi-final, Lija Athletic A and Swieqi United Futsal shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw.

This was the second time that the two teams faced each other after Swieqi had won the Knock-Out competition with 4-1 score.

This time the game was a balanced affair. Lija A were leading 2-1 by the end of the first half but Swieqi reacted well and restored parity so that everything must be decided in the second leg next week.

Jasmine Vella Turner scored a double with Ruth Steer Cheetham adding another for Lija. Dana Fuentes, Amy Abdilla and Vanessa Carneiro replied for Swieqi.
