Birkirkara ended their Assikura Women’s League winning campaign on a positive note after beating Hibernians with a trio of second-half goals to win 3-0.
Youngster Sara Saliba grabbed a brace for Jose Borg’s side while Marta Grosso scored the other goal.
The Italian midfielder finished Birkirkara’s best scorer with 17 goals.

After the match, Birkirkara were presented with the Assikura Women’s League trophy by the Malta FA President Mr. Bjorn Vassallo, newly appointed Vice-President Dr. Maria Azzopardi and Mr. Andrew Grech, Managing Director of Assikura Insurance Brokers PLC.
In the other match, a Joelma brace inspired Mġarr United to their second win in a row to wrap up their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Swieqi United.
The Brazilian playmaker scored twice in the first half as she finishes the season as the club’s best scorer on 20 points – second in the league’s scoring charts.
On the other hand, Swieqi’s goal was scored by Karima Abdulai as the Ghana player found her 16th of the season.
In the Bottom Four section, Valletta completed their perfect record with a 2-0 win over San Ġwann.
Ylenia Grech opened the score in the first half before captain Anna Aloisio wrapped up the win with a second-half strike.
In the other match, Lija Athletic defeated Mtarfa to finish level on points with San Ġwann in this section.
Lija scored eight goals without a reply through an Elisa Xuereb and Leanne Micallef brace, Nell Zarb Cousin, Edera Marmara, Vanessa Carneiro and a Dorienne Grech’s own goal.
Mtarfa remained the basement team and failed to record at least a single point.
