Manuela Tesse names squad ahead of League B opening clashes

Women’s national team head coach Manuela Tesse has just announced the final twenty-three player squad ahead of the maiden match in League B Group 3 of the European Qualifiers.

Malta will kick off their commitments in an away game Northern Ireland, which will be played this Friday at Windsor Park in Belfast, kick off 20:00.  The team will then face Portugal, the highest ranked team in the group, on Tuesday at the Centenary Stadium, Ta’ Qali, kick off 18:30.

The team embarks on these European Qualifiers, having achieved promotion from League C in the Nations League qualifiers last December.  The positive run has also continued during last February’s International friendlies, where Head Coach Tesse had the opportunity to further test the team’s development with a win against Faroe Island and a prestigious draw against Belarus.

Head Coach Tesse will conduct a first training session on Monday evening, with all the selected players, including the foreign based players.  Another training session, the last one on home soil is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
