BOV Challenge League: Pieta’ Hotspurs stun Zabbar

Zabbar St. Patrick suffered a 1-3 defeat to Pieta’ Hotspurs in a match from the BOV Challenge League Top 6 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

Dale Camilleri put the Hotspurs ahead on the 33rd and although Samuel Buhagiar equalised four minutes in the second half, Hibiki Mochizuki made it 2-1 for Pieta’ nine minutes later and Yuto Morita sealed the issue with a third goal four minutes from time.

Donys Aldair Quintero Maldonado notched a hat-trick as Marsa defeated Senglea Athletic 4-1 at the Centenary Stadium. Quintero opened the score on the 26th and Llywelyn Cremona equalised on the 35th. However by the end of the first half, Quintero scored twice on the 40th and 45th with Paul Lapira adding another on the 43rd.

Melita and Zabbar lead the way in the Top 6 with 47 points, followed by Marsa on 36, Pieta’ 35, Senglea 34 and Zurrieq 31. Melita and Zabbar have already secured promotion to the Premier League.

Meanwhile in the Play-Out, Swieqi United beat Luqa St. Andrew’s 4-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium thanks to goals by Lenny Mattocks on the 18th, Federico Vasilchik on the 28th and 45th and Blessing Brafo on the 69th.

Lija lead the way in the Play-Out with 32 points, followed by Fgura and Swieqi on 31, Tarxien 27, Zejtun and Luqa 26, St. Andrews 18, Zebbug 17, Attard 14 and Msida 6.
