Birkirkara return to winning ways

Birkirkara returned to winning ways as they defeated Gudja United 2-0 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.

A win which puts the Stripes in sixth place as Gudja suffer their seventeenth defeat in this campaign.

Birkirkara forged ahead two minutes from the end of the first half after they were awarded a penalty when a defender handled the ball inside the area and from the penalty spot, Andrei Ciolacu converted.

The Stripes doubled the score on the 65th minute thanks to a shot by substitute Maxuell Maia who beat goalkeeper James Pisani with a shot from the edge of the area.
