Nadur Youngsters claim title in dramatic finale for BOV GFL First Division

Nadur Youngsters were crowned champions of the BOV Gozo Football League First Division after defeating SK Victoria Wanderers 4-0 on Sunday.

Before Sunday’s games, Nadur and Qala Saints were sharing the top spot on 44 points but Qala were held in a goalless draw by Oratory Youths earlier on Sunday. A draw which enabled Oratory to secure their status and condemn Kercem Ajax to playing in the Second Division next season.

Kercem, on the other hand, only managed to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Ghajnsielem on Friday. Ghansielem finished second from bottom and will take part in the Promotion/Relegation Play-Off against the runners-up in the BOV GFL Second Division, Sannat Lions.

SK Victoria Wanderers placed third, followed by Xewkija Tigers and Xaghra United.

Meanwhile on Saturday, Victoria Hotspurs celebrated the BOV GFL Second Division championship in style with a 4-0 win over Munxar Falcons.

Sannat Lions placed second, followed by Munxar Falcons, St. Lawrence Spurs, Gharb Rangers and Zebbug Rovers.
