Newly-promoted Melita secured the services of Colombian twenty six year old central defender Aldair Simanca Peña.
Simanca started his career at La Equidad and went on to play for Real Cartagena before moving to the Dominican Republic to join Atlético Pantoja. He had spells with Platense FC in Honduras and Universidad Central de Venezuela in Venezuela before moving back to Colombia where he played for Boyacá Patriotas FC and Tigres FC, joining Matagalpa FC in NIcaragua earlier this year.
Melita, who had confirmed coach Clive Mizzi, had earlier signed David Xuereb, Kurt Bondin and Marc Van de Bovenkamp Font and agreed new deals with Henrique Motta, Santiago Martinez, Jesus Yepez, Karl Mohnani, Nick Cutajar and Matthew Debattista.
