Birkirkara FC signed Argentinian twenty seven year old right back Leandro Lacunza and Portuguese twenty five year old defensive midfielder Hélder André Correia Martins.

Lacunza Lacunza played in Argentina throughout his career for a number of clubs, namely Olimpo, Guillermo Brown, Chacarita Juniors and CA Alvarado. On the other hand, Hélder André Correia Martins, better known as Laton, started his career at Chaves and following a spell with AD Alcorcon in Spain, he returned to Portugal where he played for Sintra, CF Estrela, Varzim, Coimbra and 1º Dezembro.

Birkirkara, who have appointed Stefano De Angelis as their new coach, had earlier signed Shaun Dimech, Maicon, Manuel Morello and goalkeeper Giacomo Volpe.
