Floriana, Hibernians share spoils in draw

Floriana and Hibernians shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a match from the 360Sports Malta Premier at the National Stadium on Sunday.

The Greens therefore maintained their unbeaten record with a third draw in five matches to move fourth, one point behind Birkirkara and Gzira and one ahead of Hamrun and Hibernians. The Paolites, on the other hand, have now gone three matches without a win, earning just two points in draws.

Following a goalless first half, Floriana managed to take the lead five minutes in the second half courtesy of Franklin Sasere whose powerful drive, despite the marking of a defender gave goalkeeper Hugo Sacco no chance.

The Greens, however, received a major setback nine minutes later when Oualid El Hasni was sent off following a foul on Miullen for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity.

Hibernians equalised nine minutes from time thanks to Alex Bruno whose powerful shot from the edge of the area, after receiving an assist from the right, beat goalkeeper Mafoumbi.

Three minutes in added time, Higor Gabriel was sent off for Hibernians after receiving a second yellow card.
