Birkirkara eye maximum points from the clash with Melita in one of the two 360Sports Malta Premier matches in programme at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Monday in their bid to seek sole leadership.
Following a 3-3 draw in the opening match with Balzan, the Stripes defeated Zabbar, Marsaxlokk and Hibernians and now share second place with Gzira United, one point behind Siema Wanderers. A win would therefore put them two points clear.
Melita, on the other hand, earned four points from the first two matches but then suffered back-to-back defeats to Hamrun and Gzira.
Meanwhile in the second match, Marsaxlokk face Mosta in a clash between the two bottom sides.
The Southseasiders are the only team without any points after suffering defeats to Gzira, Melita, Birkirkara and Sliema. Mosta, on the other hand, claimed their first three points last week after defeating Hamrun Spartans.
