Luqa St. Andrew’s registered an impressive 5-0 win over Pembroke Athleta at the Sirens Stadium in a match from the IZIBET Amateur League 1 on Sunday.
Mario Jude Dominicus put Luqa ahead on the 29th and Nathan Frendo doubled the score three minutes later. Sherid Mohammed Iddrisu increased the lead three minutes in the second half and Bydasser Sammut converted a penalty to add another before an own goal six minutes from time wrapped up the score.
At the Luxol Stadium, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s defeated Marsaskala 4-0. Kyle Tanti handed Birzebbuga an early lead on the 10th minute Samuel Saldanha doubled the score on the 37th and Keith Muscat added scored a third goal on the 71st, Yusuf Abdullahi Sulaiman increased the lead further three minutes from time.
Qrendi scored three in the second half to beat Rabat Ajax 3-0 in another match at the Luxol Stadium. Brandon Bray opened the score on the hour, Leonardo Fernandes doubled the score nine minutes from time and three minutes later, Bray made it 3-0.
At the Sirens Stadium, Xghajra Tornados defeated Kirkop United 2-1. An own goal put Xghajra ahead on the 24th, Daryl Vella Gerada equalised eleven minutes in the second half but Dylan Mifsud made it 2-1 five minutes from time.
In another match, Mellieha came from behind to beat Gharghur 2-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Isaac Chircop put Gharghur ahead on the 29th but Christian Grech equalised on the 45th and four minutes in added time, Jake Saliba notched the winner for Mellieha.
