The Maltese Schools Team secured a remarkable victory in the tournament during their first-ever participation in the World School Games Football Cup in Barcelona, Spain, winning over Swan International School with a decisive score of 6-0 in the final match.

Zian Farrugia, one of the players from the Maltese schools, was also named Player of the Tournament.
