Leaders Birkirkara will be hoping to extend their winning streak as they take on champions Hamrun Spartans in one of the two 360Sports Malta Premier matches in programme on Saturday.
In fact at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, the Stripes, who are coming from six consecutive wins, take on Hamrun Spartans who lost two out of the last four matches, earning points in a draw with Balzan and a win over Naxxar.
In fact, eight points separate the two teams with the Spartans lying eight points behind the Stripes. Only a win for Birkirkara would ensure they stay four points clear of second-placed Floriana. On the other hand, a win for Hamrun could put them temporarily in third place.
Meanwhile at the Centenary Stadium, Mosta face Hibernians.
Eight points separate the two teams with the Paolites currently in third place on 14 points and Mosta sharing the eighth place with Melita and Marsaxlokk.
Hibs are unbeaten in three matches following a draw with Floriana and back-to-back wins over Zabbar and Hamrun. Mosta, on the other hand, lost to Birkirkara and Floriana in their last two outings after back-to-back wins over Hamrun and Marsaxlokk.
