Victoria Hotspurs keep marching on in the IZIBET Amateur League 2 as they defeated Mqabba 4-2 at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
Rondinely put the Hotspurs ahead on the 9th and seven minutes later, Shaun Attard doubled the score. An own goal three minutes from the end of the first half extended the lead and Shaun Attard added another a minute later. In the second half, Mqabba reduced the arrears with goals by Saturday Nanapere on the 52nd and Timmy Thomas three minutes from time.
In another match, Siggiewi came from behind to beat Sta. Venera Lightnings 3-1. Andie Sammut put the Lightnings ahead on the 12th but six minutes later, Tyrone Grech levelled matters. Isaac Ansanyi put them ahead eight minutes in the second half and Licoln Micallef sealed the issue on the 66th.
Victoria Hotspurs lead the way with 12 points, followed by Dingli on 9, Siggiewi 7, Mqabba, Mdina and Kalkara 6, St. George’s 3, Ghaxaq 1, Ta’ Xbiex and Sta. Venera 0.
