Valletta maintained their perfect record on top the BOV Challenge League as an Andrei Ciolacu hat-trick handed them a 3-0 win over Santa Lucia at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.
Ciolacu converted a penalty on the 15th and scored twice in the second half on the 47th and 56th.
A goal by Daniel Zerafa on the 21st handed Marsa a narrow win over Senglea Athletic in a match at the Centenary Stadium while in another match at the same venue, a goal by Andrew Xuereb on the 13th minute enabled Fgura United to beat Swieqi United 1-0.
In another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Zebbug Rangers came back from two goals down to hold Lija Athletic in a 2-2 draw. An own goal on the 10th and a goal by Omar Khatib on the 23rd put Lija two goals ahead but Camilo Diaz reduced the gap on the 70th and Chico Mendes equalised five minutes later.
Valletta lead the way with 12 points, followed by Marsa and Pieta’ on 9, Swieqi, Mgarr and Tarxien 7, Zurrieq, Fgura and Gudja 6, Senglea, St. Andrews and Sirens 5, Zebbug 4, Lija 1, Mtarfa and Santa Lucia 0.
