Luxol St Andrew’s were eliminated from the UEFA Futsal Champions League after losing 2-3 a decisive game against Lucenec of Slovakia in match-day 3 of the Main Round Group 7 at the Športová hala Arena on Saturday.
Both teams had won their first two games against Georgians Tbilisi of Georgia and Akaa of Finland and therefore this clash had to determine which team would make it to the last sixteen.

It was a very keen and hard-fought game with the Slovaks taking a two goal lead and Luxol making a comeback with two goals before the hosts notched the winner. When the score was 3-2, Luxol attacked and even came out with the flying keeper but the Slovak defence held firm to secure a spot in the next stage.
Marek Belanik put Lucenec ahead and Marcilio doubled the score within the first seven minutes but Celino Alves was quick to reduce the gap and Vitinho made it 2-2 towards the end of the first half. Lucenec scored what proved to be the winning goal through Robert Gresko.
Towards the end Luxol were deprived of what appeared to be a clear penalty when Rafael brought down Celino Alves but the referees waved play on.
In another game from the same group, Akaa of Finland beat Georgians Tbilisi 3-1.
FINAL TABLE: Lucenec 9, Luxol 6, Akaa 3, Georgians Tbilisi 0
