Hibernians defeated Balzan 1-0 in a match from the 360Sports Malta Premier Opening Round at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Friday.
The Paolites join Floriana in second place on 20 points, one ahead of Sliema Wanderers, leaving Balzan joint-third from bottom on eight points.
For Balzan, this was the sixth defeat in ten matches but they should consider themselves unlucky to leave the Tony Bezzina Stadium empty-handed after creating the better chances during the first half and for most of the second half.
Hibernians scored the all-important goal on 70 minutes when off a cross by Kleiton from the left, Silas Hamanojda exchanged the ball with Bjorn Kristensen before serving substitute Miullen who slotted the ball past goalkeeper Danilo Golovic.
