Pieta’ Hotspurs took sole leadership in the BOV Challenge League as they came from behind to defeat Senglea Athletic 2-1 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.
George Tetteh Attram put Senglea ahead on the 36th but Hytem Kabar equalised four minutes in the second half and Kurt Briffa notched the winner on the 90th.
Tarxien Rainbows also turned defeat into victory, beating Gudja United 3-1 at the Centenary Stadium. Diego Silva put Gudja ahead on the 3rd but Dacosta Boadu equalised five minutes later. Manji Williams put them ahead eight minutes in the second half and James Brincat sealed the issue on the 77th.
At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Marsa were held in a 1-1 draw by Sirens. Gillmore Azzopardi put Marsa ahead on the 17th but Thiago Nonato equalised four minutes in added time.
In another match at the Centenary Stadium, Santa Lucia registered their first win, beating Zebbug Rangers 2-1. Matthias Vella put Santa Lucia ahead on the 23rd but five minutes later, Duvan Mosquera equalised for Zebbug. However Jean Carlos converted a penalty eight minutes from the end of the first half to hand Santa Lucia the three points.
