Hungary have just been eliminated from the EURO 2025 play-offs by Scotland and are now preparing for the UEFA Women’s Nations League B commitments next year. For Malta, this game also serves as preparation for next year’s UEFA Women’s Nations League where Manuela Tesse’s girls will be playing in League C.

Hungary took the lead one minute in the second half when off a cross from the left, Henrietta Csiszár beat goalkeeper Giulia D’Antuono with a fine volley.

However Malta equalised seven minutes later when referee Maria Marotta awarded a penalty after Maria Farrugia was floored inside the area and from the penalty spot, Haley Bugeja converted.
