Gzira United and Marsaxlokk earned a point each in a goalless draw in a match from the 360 Sports Malta Premier Opening Round Bottom 6 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.
A draw which enabled them to make sure of avoiding the bottom two spots.
Shots at goal were few and far in between. The Maroons went close to taking the lead on 23 minutes when Thiaguinho’s freekick from the right was turned into a corner in style by goalkeeper Marko Drobnjak but eight minutes in the second half, Lucas Lopez hit the foot of the upright with a header off a Nikolai Micallef freekick from the right.
